Calamosche, South of Noto, Sicily
Inside a nature reserve, Calamosche is protected from winds and is filled aquamarine water. The calm waters will have you relaxing in your own little bubble, as you need to go far out to get your swimmers wet.
The clear waters, you need to walk a kilometre from the main reserve carpark. Don’t let this hinder in your excitement to go, as this allows for natural selection of people to easily get deterred and is why you’ll find it it’s refreshingly uncrowded. The walk gets you heated up and ready to enter straight into serenity at the peace of the reserve. Bring everything you need, including water & food, and don’t forget a beach umbrella as there’s no shade.
San Vito Lo Capo, Sicily
One of the most stunning town beaches, the long scapes of white sand, which is extremely rare to find in Italy, makes this a popular idylic spot. An hour’s drive from Trapani airport, you can easily spend the whole day boucing between the beach and the local trattoria’s to eat the CousCous, their prodotti tipici, which is what the region is known for.
